The International Agency for Research into Cancer (IARC), the gold standard for establishing the causes of cancer, state that there are more than 70 chemicals in tobacco smoke that have been found to cause cancer in studies involving people or in the laboratory. And many of the other thousands of chemicals are toxic and harmful to your health, including carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide and ammonia.
